Who We Help

Who do we help?

Who do we help?

Our mission is to change the  FUTURE DESTINY of children under sixteen  whose treatment their families cannot afford,  who have been born with congenital deformities (that must be severe but at the same time curable) giving rise to problems of the five following types:

  • Urological
  • Abdominal
  • Thoracic
  • Orthopedics
  • Maxillo-Facial

And also those with acquired problems due to accidents (such as burns) or diseases (such as poliomyelitis)

The Fund will help any child wherever they are located in Vietnam; the coverage of the Fund support is from the Mekong Delta to the Highlands, including the north. We have worked officially with the following provinces - Ben Tre, Dong Thap, Kien Giang, Vinh Long, An Giang and Ca Mau to locate the disabled children that need surgery and to provide support to resolve their problems.

Since operation in June 2006, the "Children of Vietnam Fund" sponsored by FVH has donated more than 500 million VND to pay for the operations of 32 children with congenital abnomalities and accident sequelae. The anomalies treated were cleft palate, genital tract defects, congenital nephropathy, spinal deformities, leg abnormality, congenital defects: finger adherence, redundant thumb, and , post-burn hand sequelae. Several of the children who were treated are from Peace Village-Tu Du Hospital and Tam Binh Children's Shelter Center. The others are from poor families nationwide, areas as diverse as Da Nang, Phu Yen, Binh Thuan, HCMC, Long An, Tra Vinh. The Fund aims to help children of disadvantaged families who are surgically indicated and in proper health. In the future, the Fund will focus on the Mekong Delta provinces, where there are still many handicapped children awaiting surgery.
